Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1
Daily Meditation
An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. Psalm 41:8-10
Hymn
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” 1 John 3:1
Behold, what love, what boundless love,
The Father hath bestowed
On sinners lost, that we should be
Now called “the sons of God!”
Chorus
Behold, what manner of love!
What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
That we, that we should be called,
Should be called the sons of God!
No longer far from Him but now
By “precious blood” made nigh,
Accepted in the “Well beloved,”
Near to God’s heart we lie.
What we in glory soon shall be,
It doth not yet appear;
But when our precious Lord we see,
We shall His image bear.
With such a blessèd hope in view,
We would more holy be,
More like our risen, glorious Lord,
Whose face we soon shall see.
Consolation
And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? Luke 22:46-48
Exhortation
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Matthew 1:22
