“Therefore many of them believed;”

Manner of Life
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1

Daily Meditation
“Therefore many of them believed;”
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. Acts 17:10-12 Entire Chapter

Hymn
“In Him we live, and move, and have our being.” Acts 17:28
Ye humble souls, approach your God
With songs of sacred praise,
For He is good, immensely good,
And kind are all His ways.

All nature owns His guardian care,
In Him we live and move;
But nobler benefits declare
The wonders of His love.

He gave His Son, His only Son,
To ransom rebel worms;
’Tis here He makes His goodness known
In its diviner forms.

To this dear refuge, Lord, we come;’Tis here our hope relies;A safe defense, a peaceful home,When storms of trouble rise.

Thine eye beholds, with kind regard,
The souls who trust in Thee;
Their humble hope Thou wilt reward,
With bliss divinely free.

Consolation
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. Romans 11:1-3

Exhortation
Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 1 Timothy 5:17-19

Proverbs
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. Proverbs 1: 5-6 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. Proverbs 13:10-13

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:19-21
