“Give unto the LORD,”

Manner of Life
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1

Daily Meditation
“Give unto the LORD,”
Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will. For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 1 Chronicles 16:28; Leviticus 22:29; 2 Corinthians 4:15

Hymn
“Give thanks in all circumstances.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thanks to God for my Redeemer,
Thanks for all Thou dost provide!
Thanks for times now but a memory,
Thanks for Jesus by my side!
Thanks for pleasant, balmy springtime,
Thanks for dark and stormy fall!
Thanks for tears by now forgotten,
Thanks for peace within my soul!

Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered,
Thanks for what Thou dost deny!
Thanks for storms that I have weathered,
Thanks for all Thou dost supply!
Thanks for pain, and thanks for pleasure,
Thanks for comfort in despair!
Thanks for grace that none can measure,
Thanks for love beyond compare!

Thanks for roses by the wayside,
Thanks for thorns their stems contain!
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside,
Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain!
Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow,
Thanks for heav’nly peace with Thee!
Thanks for hope in the tomorrow,
Thanks through all eternity!

Consolation
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. Micah 6:7-9

Exhortation
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; Colossians 4:5; Titus 1:14; 1 Timothy 2:1

Proverbs
Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren. The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts. Proverbs 17:1-3

Weekly Verse:
Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 1 Corinthians 6:2

I Pray Thee
Thank you Gracious Lord. Amen.
