Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1
Daily Meditation
"Because he hath sinned, and is guilty"
If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein: Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering. Leviticus 6: 2-5
Hymn
"Come, ye children, hearken unto me." Psalm 34:11
We are a band of merry children,
Full of glee, full of glee,
Like the springtime in its beauty,
Glad are we, glad are we;
Bright is the busy world around us,
Bright with flowers, bright with flowers,
Smiles from the sunny vale above us,
Come with the hours, come with the hours.
Chorus
We are a band of merry, merry children,
While to the Sunday school we cling,
We are a band of merry, merry children,
Tried and true, tried and true.
Happy am I, the bird is singing,
Wild and free, wild and free,
While to the song with hearts we echo,
So are we, so are we;
O! there is joy in every blossom,
We may share, we may share,
While we adore the hand that made it,
Pure and fair, pure and fair.
Happy am I, the wind is sighing,
Through the shade, through the shade;
Sweet is my home the daisy murmurs,
In the glade, in the glade;
Thus we can say in days of childhood,
Full of glee, full of glee,
Blending our hearts with nature’s voices,
Blest are we, blest are we.
Consolation
Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. Psalm 15: 1-3
Exhortation
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Colossians 3: 9-11

Proverbs
The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. Proverbs 29:7-9
Weekly Verse:
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Absolute Assurance
"He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" Hebrews 13:5
Several times in the Scriptures the LORD hath said this. He has often repeated it to make our assurance doubly sure. Let us never harbor a doubt about it. In itself the promise is specially emphatic. In the Greek it has five negatives, each one definitely shutting out the possibility of the LORD's ever leaving one of His people so that he can justly feel forsaken of his God. This priceless Scripture does not promise us exemption from trouble, but it does secure us against desertion. We may be called to traverse strange ways, but we shall always have our LORD's company, assistance, and provision. We need not covet money, for we shall always have our God, and God is better than gold; His favor is better than fortune.
We ought surely to be content with such things as we have, for he who has God has more than all the world besides. What can we have beyond the Infinite? What more can we desire than almighty Goodness.
Come, my heart; if God says He will never leave thee nor forsake thee, be thou much in prayer for grace that thou mayest never leave thy LORD, nor even for a moment forsake His ways. C. H. Spurgeon
