“Come ye after me,”

Manner of Life
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1

Daily Meditation
“Come ye after me,”
Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. Mark 1:16-18 Read Mark 1

Hymn
“The Master is come, and calleth for thee.” John 11:28
The Master hath come, and He calls us to follow
The track of the footprints He leaves on our way;
Far over the mountain and through the deep hollow,
The path leads us on to the mansions of day:
The Master hath called us, the children who fear Him,
Who march ’neath Christ’s banner, His own little band;
We love Him and seek Him, we long to be near Him,
And rest in the light of His beautiful land.

The Master hath called us; the road may be dreary
And dangers and sorrows are strewn on the track;
But God’s Holy Spirit shall comfort the weary;
We follow the Savior and cannot turn back;
The Master hath called us, though doubt and temptation
May compass our journey, we cheerfully sing:
“Press onward, look upward,” through much tribulation;
The children of Zion must follow the King.

The Master hath called us, in life’s early morning,
With spirits as fresh as the dew on the sod:
We turn from the world, with its smiles and its scorning,
To cast in our lot with the people of God:
The Master hath called us, His sons and His daughters,
We plead for His blessing and trust in His love;
And through the green pastures, beside the still waters,
He’ll lead us at last to His kingdom above.

Consolation
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Exhortation
And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. 2 Chronicles 15:2

Proverbs
As the divisions of waters, so the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever he will he shall turn it. Every way of a man seemeth right to himself: but the Lord weigheth the hearts. To do mercy and judgment, pleaseth the Lord more than victims. Haughtiness of the eyes is the enlarging of the heart: the lamp of the wicked is sin. The thoughts of the industrious al- ways bring forth abundance: but every sluggard is always in want. Proverbs 21:1-5

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. Psalm 119:5-7
