“Then saith he unto his disciples,”

Manner of Life
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1

Daily Meditation
“Then saith he unto his disciples,”
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Hymn
“Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.” Psalm 4:1
O Father, hear me as I pray to Thee,
I know that I am far from purity;
But Jesus died that sinful men might live,
So in His Name I ask Thee to forgive.

Chorus
Father, Father,
Humbly now I come to Thee;
Father, Father,
Hear, oh hear my humble plea.

I pray that Thou wilt pardon ev’ry sin;
O Lord, forgive and make me pure within.
Plant a desire for service in my heart
And give me strength to always do my part.

Tonight, O Father, as the shadows creep
And I so gently close my eyes in sleep,
I pray that Thou wilt guard me through the night
And keep me safe till comes the morning light.

When morning comes, oh, let me rise to work,
Forbid that duty I should ever shirk;
And when at last my race on earth is run,
Grant, Lord, that I may hear Thee say, “Well done.”

Consolation
The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. Psalm 20:1-4

Exhortation
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 1 Corinthians 3:8-10

Proverbs
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. Proverbs 1: 5-6 There are many thoughts in the heart of a man: but the will of the Lord shall stand firm. A needy man is merciful: and better is the poor than the lying man. The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in fulness without being visited with evil. The slothful hideth his hand under his armpit, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth. The wicked man being; scourged, the fool shall be wiser: but if thou rebuke a wise man he will understand discipline. Proverbs 19:21-25

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. Psalm 4:5
