“A greater than Solomon is here.”

Manner of Life
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1

Daily Meditation
“A greater than Solomon is here.”
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. Psalm 5:5; Matthew 12:42; Luke 11:32; Psalm 57:5

Hymn
“God is known…for a refuge. For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.” Psalm 48:3-5
Great is the Lord our God,
And let His praise be great;
He makes His churches His abode,
His most delightful seat.

Those temples of His grace,
How beautiful they stand!
The honors of our native place,
And bulwarks of our land.

In Sion God is known,
A refuge in distress;
How bright has His salvation shone
Through all her palaces!

When kings against her joined,
And saw the Lord was there,
In wild confusion of the mind,
They fled with hasty fear.

When navies tall and proud
Attempt to spoil our peace,
He sends His tempests roaring loud,
And sinks them in the seas.

Oft have our fathers told,
Our eyes have often seen,
How well our God secures the fold
Where His own sheep have been.

In every new distress
We’ll to His house repair;
We’ll think upon His wondrous grace,
And seek deliverance there.

Consolation
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. John 3:31-33

Exhortation
Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee. Job 36:2-4

Proverbs
He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue. Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. Proverbs 28:22-24

Weekly Verse:
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. Deuteronomy 32:2, 3
